Yes, We Need You!

Come and experience what God is doing on this block, between 45th and 46th Street. Hear the stories of a promised supply of turkeys fell through, how oven repairs went wrong and there was not a way to cook the meal; or how the freezers stopped working and how volunteers built a walk-in freezer in days just a few days before Thanksgiving and then there are the stories of how we ran out of turkey before 1 p.m. and a homeless woman was the first to offer her own money to go buy fried chicken at a local market; it has be like the fishes and the loaves; operating in God’s economy can seem to go against traditional business sense.

This Thanksgiving we expect to see the power of God displayed among His people: those who will provide and those participating in His service, whether rearranging the community center, or preparing food and serving meals. The need continues to grow. Thousands will be fed throughout the city of Los Angeles through the participation of returning partners and there is always the possibility of new sites participating.

There have been so many changes since Thanksgiving of 2009. We have pastors who partnered with us last year are dealing with serious health issues. There have been job changes and career transitions. People have had to relocate due to property owners losing their property to foreclosures or had to downsize because the economy had downsized.
